Twenty years ago I discovered a fascinating anomaly that brought me profound hope for the future. After studying the cycle of Pluto and how it relates to our Earthly wobble, a stunning pattern emerged of power amassment by a dictator that was rectified around a hundred years later. This cycle correlates with a pattern of war, violence, and patriarchy that is ending.
The cycle unfolds in four stages: VISION, POWER, JUSTICE, and REFORM. The cycle begins with visionaries (Pluto crossing from south to north declination), leads to abusers of power (Pluto out-of-bounds north), moves into a time when reactionaries cry for justice (Pluto moving from north to south declination), and lastly moving into a time of revolution and uprisings (Pluto out-of-bounds south).
The crazy thing is that Pluto will be going out-of-bounds for the last time from 2025-2035—and this planet that correlates with destruction will no longer be the same force of nature.1 Like in the myth, when Persephone rises into power in the Underworld, a wave of compassion permeates the underworld, a wave that rises into the hearts and minds of the living. No longer afraid of death, no longer concerned about being mistreated for eternity by the patriarchal and miserable god, Hades (Pluto), humans live freer on Earth. The goddess Demeter is somewhat passified bringing summer back and Persephone steps into power. The goddesses do not override the gods, but sit side by side equally, bringing balance and harmony to life in its many dimensions.
My book, Persephone’s Revolution: Pluto’s Path to the End of Empire, is at the publishers—hopefully out in the next few months. Articles here will focus on current events and the particular lens I have from studying this cycle for over twenty years.
I want to energize the revolution I see coming, and I know I’m not alone. I want to support us in aligning our purpose, practices, and intentions with the potential, the very probable potential, that as greed-filled and fear-based powers die off, we can create a new world, a world where peace prevails, where compassion overrides divisiveness, where our bodies are sacred vessels and are treated that way, where we understand science from a multi-dimensional perspective, where violence is seen as illness needing treatment, where love is a prevalent force easily available to all, where all voices are heard, where we experience the environment around us as being part of us, and where we are free to express our true selves in an oxygen-rich climate of joy.
Due to the tilt of Earth changing, the equatorial plane from which declination is measured changes. As this changes, the equatorial plane moves into greater alignment with Pluto’s orbit. A small change in our perspective and Pluto no longer goes out of bounds.
Looking forward to reading your book
