Wait, What, West Virginia?!
States most likely aligning with the Mars retrograde
As I was looking at the state and city charts for Florida and North Carolina to see why the eclipse storms in the autumn hit them so hard. I found that the Jupiter of Asheville (12/23/1797) is at 9° Aries and the Sun of Florida Territory (3/30/1822) is at 9° Aries, very close to the degree of the second eclipse in October. The settlement date of Florida, 9/18/1565, shows the Sun at 25° Virgo, near the first eclipse. So, yea, that happened. Eclipses bring on the storms and the resonance between the eclipse and the Suns of those places supported the intensity of the hurricanes.
Looking ahead, I was curious to see what states and places might be most impacted by the upcoming Mars-Pluto opposition.
West Virginia 6/20/1863
Yes, West Virginia. For me, an east coast native living on the west coast, West Virginia isn’t naturally a state I tune into, but I just got an interesting look into its history. With a lack of farm-able land, West Virginia split from Virginia during the Civil War to align with the Union, making its birth date June 20, 1863, which happens to be the VISION time of this cycle. It is a mineral rich state, with vast resources of salt, coal, and natural gas, another reason for aligning with industry (the North) over farming (the South). I often find WV at the bottom of lists of wealth, health, and education. It is a beautiful state of mountains. The coal mining industry has huge influence, and yet tourism is its number one money-maker. These stats may be more indicative of spending money, while the coal industry rakes in corporate profits without paying their fair share of taxes or even reporting their earnings.
WV’s Mars is at 3° Leo, right near where Mars is stationing at 6° Leo. Mars is part of a conjunction with Venus and the Moon, while squaring Pluto. The state has more significant power than it seems. I imagine that this energy rich state is holding the keys to some underworld kingdom that is rarely in the news (if ever). The new governor is likely to change things up in this state, and not in a good way.
The newly elected governor, Patrick Morrisey (R), grew up in Edison, NJ, with a dad who was an account manager at U.S. Steel. He went to Rutgers undergrad and law school, and grew into a lobbyist against the environment, successfully attacking the EPA in WV v. EPA (2022) while he was AG of WV. Now, he has turned his attention toward attacking the ACA. I wonder how much people in WV know about this outsider who does not have their best interests at heart.
One of the most concerning Trump cabinet picks is Lee Zeldin (1/30/1980) for EPA. Zeldin has no interest in upholding the EPA. We can’t count on corporations to regulate themselves, so an increase in pollution is likely ahead for us in the US, a colossal step backward in time. Mars retrograde can be like that . . . a step backward to do damage. However, there is a rectification as Mars moves direct, at the end of February. Even as early as March, we might see a backlash. If there is one movement that could unify all the movements, a movement in support of the environment might just be it. Look to West Virginia to be at the heart of the conversation. Starting in March, when Mars goes direct opposite Pluto, a coordinated and global effort to take down capitalism and its effects in environmental destruction could render someone like Morrisey impotent. However, Morrisey’s Sun/Pluto midpoint is at a particularly powerful place for underground power (11° Scorpio). He has some powerful and secret alliances. Maybe Mars squaring his Sun/Pluto midpoint might challenge or even blow up these secret pacts.
In 1996, WV implemented a ban on nuclear energy. In 2022, Governor Jim Justice, who is now an incoming senator, reversed the ban.[1] Nuclear energy has never and will never be entirely safe. That the entire premise of energy is based on electricity, that needs to be produced and can be regulated, when it could be based on magnetism which could be free and harmless, is the deeper issue. As a scientific paradigm shift moves us in the direction of magnetism, WV may be at the center of the debate.
Alabama 12/14/1819
Alabama also has Mars at the point at which Mars is stationing. Alabama’s Mars at 5° Leo is also retrograde, deepening the significance of this Mars retrograde impact on the state. Not only that, but Birmingham’s Mars is at 5° Leo (12/19/1871), Montgomery’s Mars is at 5° Leo (12/3/1819) and Tuscaloosa’s Mars is at 5° Leo retrograde (12/13/1819). The current Governor Kay Ivey (10/15/1944) still has two more years on her term. However, her health is not good, an 80-year old, lung-cancer survivor who recently collapsed in public. The Lieutenant Governor, NRA advocate, Will Ainsworth (3/22/1981), is all set to step in. He was endorsed by Marco Rubio and seems to be a true believer in Trump. It isn’t Ainsworth’s chart that interests me as much as Senator Tommy Tuberville’s. Tuberville’s Sun/Moon midpoint is at 5° Leo, a point of power. It is rumored that the Senator wants the Governorship. Ainsworth is no match for the senior senator. I see some shake-ups coming for Alabama. The junior senator, Katie Britt (R) 2/2/1982, has a powerful chart. She appears to be another run-of-the-mill crazy Trumpite, espousing Republican talking points on all accounts. I suspect, however, there is something else driving her and her views may not be as congruently Trumpism as they appear.
In addition to the Mars-Pluto transit, the March eclipse at 26° Pisces will be hitting AL’s Saturn, and the March eclipse at 9° Aries will be hitting AL’s North Node. That means that the eclipses will be triggering the soul of this state.
The abortion ban is particularly perilous for women in Alabama. As the state is emboldened to move deeper in the direction of gun rights, and taking away rights for LGTBQ and women, this state may take an even bigger step back. But just like in WV, there is a backlash coming and this state is no stranger to protests.
New York 7/26/1788 and Michigan 1/26/1837
The New York Sun is at 4° Leo and the Michigan Sun is at 6° Aquarius. The Mars retrograde is also transiting their charts. Watch for events in these states to spark news. Both states have Democrat women governors, Kathy Hochul 8/27/1958 in New York and Gretchen Whitmer 8/23/1971 in Michigan. With their birthdays so close, their Suns conjunct in addition to a few other alignments (Hochul Moon conjunct Whitmer Mars and North Node; Hochul Venus conjunct Whitmer South Node) look to these two forming an alliance as the Mars retrograde supports active movements in these states.
Both states border Canada and have important ports in the Great Lakes, and perhaps the most to lose from Trumps tariffs. As trade talks continue with Canada, these two governors may take an interesting stand. As Trump supports state rights, he might hide his ill-conceived tariffs in states’ rights conversations, back-walking his rhetoric or even blaming the states. Whitmer and Hochul are prepared. Mars seeks to support the vitality (Sun) of these states, but first it attacks. PM of Canada Trudeau’s South Node at 6° Leo is being transited by Mars (attacked), while his Sun at 3° Capricorn nicely trines Whitmer’s and Hochul’s Suns supporting an alliance.
As we enter a new time in the US, looking at the states, their charts and the governor charts may tell us more about what is ahead than thinking about the US as a single organism.
While the specifics of future events are unpredictable, the focus on where and when is. For the next three months, tune into what is happening in these four states. They are likely to be setting precedents and may be the epicenters for the sparks of revolutions.
