Thunder

A shift in the energy

I am sharing this audio recording with you mostly for fun. It punctuates a theme going on for me these days—the theme of thunder.

A few hours after watching the Lunar Eclipse on a clear night (September 7th), I was awakened by a massive thunderstorm. Two weeks later, a few hours before the Solar Eclipse on September 21st, I was visiting The Cloister of St. Tromphine in Arles, France, a lovely sunny day. While waiting for a friend in the courtyard below the scene above, I started recording the bells, which I thought were lovely. I happened to catch the transition from bells to thunder. (the recording above)

About a week ago, I was awakened at 5:00 am in the morning to a single, long, loud explosion of noise that lasted long enough for me to wake up and walk outside to look for flames. Turns out—not an explosion—just thunder.

This has led me to contemplate the work of thunder. Traditionally the thunderbolt was carried by Zeus (Greek) and Indra (Hindu), both for awakening purposes—like a flash of insight that could awaken one out of a stupor of ignorance—like Mother Nature blasting us out of bed at 5am “Get up and meditate!”—like a reminder that the noise (stressful posts and anxiety producing viral news videos) through the electronic devices always by our sides these days is not the loudest noise.

What is waking you up these days? Reminding you that there are bigger things—things out of your control—things moving you into greater awareness?
