Pete Hegseth's Vedic Astrology you can watch on YouTube if that works better for you.
A few things to note:
Mars is the ruler of his chart and lives in the 10th house of career. Mars rules the military and sports. This supports a successful career in the military. Mars is together with Jupiter and Saturn. Saturn and Mars form a Raja Yoga—a yoga of upliftment, of luck, of ease. Saturn in the 10th with the ruler (Mars) supports his ability to organize, structure, and expect respect, even demand respect. When the ruler of the chart is strong, and his Mars is, it supports all the karmas in the chart, good and bad, manifest in his lifetime. Jupiter is together with Mars which creates a Dhana Yoga that supports wealth, and a Raja yoga of upliftment. Two Raja yogas—like a rising tide that lifts him up, is a signature of privilege. These three planets are in Leo, a sign of leadership ruled by the Sun, who is a friend to the chart. So his ego blesses his career endeavors as he falls into success.
The Moon is the next most important thing to look at (after the Lagna Lord, Mars). The Moon rules our consciousness, how we experience life, how we digest life’s twists and turns. A well-supported Moon means the world has our back. His Moon is NOT well-supported. It is absent of any of the Chandra Yogas that give support to his emotional well-being. Inside, he is a twisted mess. It is called a Kema Druma Yoga and means a person is lost, soul-less, or profoundly struggling. It is often connected to criminals, like OJ Simpson, and/or people suffering with addiction. The person with a Kema Druma moon feels like the world is out to get them. They feel an utter lack of support. Given that Hegseth was born into the Saturn time period, a time we have to grow up fast, I imagine at least one of his parents was very hard on him (probably his dad/basketball coach). However, there is a cancellation to the Kema Druma Yoga (Vedic astrology is full of twists and turns) that he has. When planets are in angles from the Lagna or the Moon, the Kema Druma Yoga becomes a Kalpadruma Yoga - a yoga of comfort and ease. Things come easy to this guy. Cancellations never fully cancel yogas—in other words, the scent of the Kema Druma still exists. The lost, lonely, “no one gets me” feeling is probably something he lives with his whole life. It makes relationships difficult and feeling connected to others almost impossible.
From 1996 to 2013, he was in his Mercury Dasha. Mercury is an enemy to his chart, in other words, a planet that brings suffering. It rules the 8th and the 11th and is in its own sign. This creates a Veeparit Yoga—the lemons to lemonade yoga. Life gives problems and you figure out a way to solve them. When Mercury is strong we have a gift for logic and decision making and the kind of intelligence that is supported in our culture (aka, he was high school valedictorian). In his case, this gift is particularly focused on wealth. However, Mercury in the 8th together with another enemy to his chart, Venus, can also mean issues with sex and in his case, women. Using his over achieving Mars to sexually assault women, while he himself is unaware of the harm he is doing. This is a dangerous position in his chart, both to himself and to others. It would not surprise me if he was suicidal at some point between 1996 and 2013.
In 2013, he moved into the Ketu dasha—and became a host on Fox. Ketu in the 3rd house of communication suggests a time of being emotionally absent. Probably a time when he was abusing substances continuously. It is a time of loss. it can be a spiritual time period, but with his Kema druma moon, spiritual growth is almost not an option.
In 2020, he moved into his Venus dasha where he will be til 2040. Venus rules the 7th of partnership and the 12th of the suffering of the world. It is not a friend and it brings in loss. This is an uncomfortable time period for Pete. His charm (Venus) offensive (Mars) can help along with Venus’ association with the ruler of the house, Mercury can help. What this means is friends in high places. Some agreement he made back in Mercury/Venus around 2000 to 2002 with someone in power is lifting him up.
Mars retrogrades are powerful and supportive when you have a strong Mars, and he does. In addition, the Mars retrograde (Dec 5, 2024 to Feb 24, 2025) has been in his 9th house of promotions. Mars is helping him move through the confirmation hearings and there is something significant in that the Full Moon aligned with Mars is also happening. This is all beneficial for him.
However . . . Venus does not have his back and on Dec 27, 2024 he moved into Venus/Moon, and we know the Moon is alone and abandoned, only bouyed by the Mars/Saturn/Jupiter which takes over the chart. In other words, he barely even knows what is happening. Someone or something else is pulling the strings. The big problem is on January 19th, Mars retrogrades back into Gemini (Sidereal), his 8th house. From January 20 to April 6, Mars wreaks havoc on him. This is a profoundly stressful time for him. Enemies come out of the woodwork as Mars incites Venus and Mercury. It is a time when he makes powerful enemies.
My guess, the military is not happy with this assignment. Congress can push it through, but if the generals and the staff are not happy, there are ways to get him out. The Venus retrograde will be over his Moon, making it so he feels extra left out and lonely, while the eclipses are also activating his Moon. This is a time of loss, of struggle, of suffering. His ambition gets the better of him.
He is like Icarus. With his hot Mars, he flies too close to the Sun and gets burned up in his own ambition. He might rise again—-but not til August 2026 when he moves into Venus/Mars.
